Personalised Lights

£30.00

The images here show a sample of my personalised lights.  Your light will have a photo that you choose.  Could be a favourite pet or a relative, a favourite holiday snap or a photo of a couple for a gift.  We’ve all got hundreds of photos and this is a great way to turn them into something completely unique and special.

Before we start, you need to read this article on the best way to choose your photo (opens in a new tab)

So, how do these personalised lights work?

This, like a lot of the lights I sell, is a lithophane.  A lithophane is a special kind of 3D artwork that looks like an ordinary, flat, bumpy surface when you look at it normally. But when you shine light through it (like holding it up to a window or using a light behind it), it suddenly reveals a detailed picture like a black and white photo.  It really is a magical thing when you turn the light on.  I’ve had someone burst into tears when she saw the one I made of her mum who’d passed away.

As with all my lights, this personalised light features a rechargeable light unit in the base that will last for between 10 and 16 hours on a charge depending on the colour you choose.  Each light comes with a remote control so that you can choose from 1 of 13 different colours including white, you can set the light to fade slowly through all the colours, you can adjust the brightness, and you can set the light to turn off automatically after 30 or 60 minutes.

Each personalised light is around 203mm tall and around 90mm in diameter so it’s big enough to make a statement but small enough to fit into that dark corner that you want to brighten up but don’t have a socket.

The lights are made from PLA which is a cornstarch based material.  It’s biodegradable, can be recycled, or can be incinerated to generate energy without leaving any residue or releasing harmful substances into the atmosphere.
