William Morris Inspired Highland Cow Lamp

£24.95

This charming William Morris Inspired Highland Cow Lamp brings together two things I’m really fond of – the enduring beauty of William Morris-inspired design, and the calming presence of Highland cows. Wrapped around a cylinder is a delicate lithophane image, where the light brings out every detail in gentle contrast, from the Morris-style foliage to the shaggy coats and gentle eyes of the cows themselves.

If you’re not already familiar, William Morris was one of the leading figures of the Arts and Crafts movement in the late 1800s – a rebellion, really, against the mass-produced and soulless. He championed craftsmanship, natural forms, and a belief that even everyday objects should be beautiful. That spirit later flowed into Art Nouveau too, with all its flowing lines and nature-inspired patterns. Fast forward to 2025, and those ideals are still going strong – maybe even more relevant now than ever, as we look for ways to slow down and reconnect with the things that bring comfort.

This light is made from a plant-based PLA, so it’s kinder to the environment, and it uses low-energy LEDs to keep running costs low. It’s rechargeable via USB-C, so no cables once it’s charged and it can be placed anywhere. The remote control gives you a choice of 13 colours – or you can let it gently fade through them all. There’s something genuinely calming about watching the colours change slowly, especially in the quiet of the evening.

It also features a timer, so you can set it to switch off after 30 or 60 minutes – perfect if you like to fall asleep with a bit of soft light. Whether it’s on your bedside table or in the corner of your lounge, this lamp offers a gentle glow and a touch of timeless design that fits just as comfortably in a modern home as it would have in a Victorian parlour.

At a hair over 200mm tall and 90mm in diameter, this William Morris Inspired Highland Cow Lamp is big enough to make a statement in any room without being overpowering
