What can I say? This mid century modern style table lamp collection speaks for itself. Speak to any interior design expert and they’ll assure you that mid century modern decor is timeless. It’s not a trend. It’s not a fleeting moment. With its clean lines, organic shapes and natural materials, it’s one of the pillars of modern design.
These are my own designs and I’ve just brought the mid century modern concept up to date. 3D printed from PLA, which is derived from cornstarch. It’s a bioplastic rather than a petroleum based plastic. It can be recycled and composted in the right setting, and it can also be incinerated to produce energy whilst leaving no residue and releasing no harmful chemicals into the atmosphere.
But back to the table lamp.
You have a choice of 4 different shades in 2 different colours:
The shade sits on top of a French Navy tripod base with the cable exiting underneath. If you look at the gallery, you can also see and image showing what each colour looks like in a room setting. This will give you an idea of how much it illuminates a space.
The clever bit is the light fitting itself. Mains powered devices in the UK are subject to all sorts of regulations – for good reason! You’ll find lots of products that use mains light fittings that are bought in cheaply and have no safety markings. This one does. This one should be about as safe as you’ll get because I buy them from IKEA and fit them to the base without having to modify them in any way. So you can be confident that used as intended then your home and family are safe.
The light fitting takes an E14 bulb (not included). The bulb should not exceed 7w but you can use any colour of bulb that you want. I have a couple of these in my office at home and use a smart bulb that can be controlled with Alexa. But the choice is yours. The fabric cord is 4m long and there’s a normal switch inline
