Sometimes the simplest things can spark the biggest smiles. This light up sensory table has become one of those wonders in my workshop that I’m most proud of. Designed with children in mind – especially those with neurodiversities such as autism and ADHD – it’s not just a piece of furniture. It’s a calming space, a focus point, and sometimes even a tool for helping children relax when the day feels a little too busy.

You can choose to add the funky dinosaurs with your table for just £5 for a set of 8. These are around 6 to 8cm tall and 6 to 8cm wide. All 8 will be in the same colour but the colour you receive will vary. If you want a specific colour, please send a message once you’ve ordered and I’ll order in the acrylic especially for you for the same price. Bear in mind it might take a couple of days extra depending on stock.
The table itself is round, standing about 40cm tall and 48cm in diameter – just the right size for sensory play at home, in schools, or therapy spaces. The glow comes from a rechargeable LED unit tucked neatly into the base. A quick 2-hour charge gives up to 14 hours of soft, magical light, so it can last through the whole day and well into the evening. The table is slightly smaller at the base than at the top, making it easy for a small child to sit at without compromising the stability. But weighing in at around a kilogram, it’s not going to do any damage if an accident happens and it gets knocked over.
What makes it really handy is the remote control. With it, you (or your child) can choose a favourite colour, adjust the brightness, or set it to gently fade through the full rainbow. For more energetic moments there’s even a flashing mode, while for calmer times you can set a 30 or 60-minute timer so the light switches itself off without you having to worry.
Because it’s cool to the touch and low voltage, it’s completely safe for little hands. It’s also made from eco-friendly PLA, which makes it a kinder choice for the environment while still being strong enough for daily use.
