I designed this honeycomb table lamp because I wanted a light that felt calm first with a bit of geometric interest second — something that quietly earns its place in a room rather than shouting for attention.
I’ve been learning Computer Aided Design for a while now and wanted to do this but getting a pattern like this onto a cylinder has eluded me until now. The honeycomb pattern came from experimenting with how light passes through repeated geometric shapes. The way that the hexagonal design softens the light and adds subtle texture all the way around is exactly what I was after.
The lamp is 200mm tall and 100mm in diameter, which makes it a really versatile size. It’s big enough to feel substantial on a side table or bedside cabinet, but compact enough not to dominate the space. When switched on, the honeycomb design wraps the light in a gentle, diffused glow, creating a relaxed atmosphere that’s perfect for winding down in the evening.
This honeycomb table lamp has a rechargeable LED unit inside which should last for between 10 and 15 hours depending on the colour of light you choose. It comes with a remote control for choosing the colour, setting the brightness and other functions
Each lamp is 3D printed by me using eco-friendly PLA (cornstarch) that helps spread the light evenly. I love 3D printing because it lets me refine small details — like the depth of the honeycomb cells — until the light feels just right. No two rooms are exactly the same, but this lamp seems to adapt beautifully wherever it’s placed.
If you’re looking for a honeycomb table lamp that combines modern design with a warm, homely feel, this one is designed to do exactly that. It’s not about harsh brightness or flashy features — it’s about creating a soft pool of light that makes a space feel comfortable, calm and lived-in.
