Seraphim are often described as the highest order of angels – radiant, watchful, and quietly powerful. In art and mythology they’re symbols of light, protection and serenity. When I designed this Seraphim Night Light, I wanted to capture that same calm presence – the feeling of a gentle, glowing guardian watching peacefully over a room.
The design wraps a detailed seraphim figure all the way around the outside of the lamp so that the image flows almost seamlessly across the entire cylinder. As the light glows from within, the delicate features of the seraphim slowly reveal themselves: the serene face, the intricate headdress, and the flowing ornamental patterns surrounding the figure. The magic happens when you turn this night light on and the image appears.
This Seraphim Night Light is 3D printed as a single cylindrical shade measuring 200mm tall and 100mm in diameter. The detailed artwork wraps continuously around the lamp, meaning every angle offers a slightly different perspective of the design. As the light shines through the layered textures, the relief of the image becomes deeper and more atmospheric, giving the impression that the figure is gently emerging from the glow.
I designed this piece to feel calming rather than dramatic — something that quietly changes the mood of a space. That’s why it works beautifully as both a Table Lamp, a Bedside Light or a Night Light. The soft illumination creates a peaceful atmosphere beside a bed, on a shelf, or on a side table where you want a little warmth in the evening.
One of the things I care about with most of my lights is the freedom of placement. It’s completely rechargeable and can run for up to 24 hours between charges depending on the colour setting you choose using the included remote control. Because there are no cables, you’re not tied to a wall socket. You can place it wherever it feels right in your home — on a bedside table tonight, perhaps on a hallway console tomorrow, or on a shelf where its gentle glow can soften the darkest corner.
Being cordless also means it moves easily with you. If you want a quiet light while you read, you can simply pick it up and bring it closer. If you’re creating a calm evening atmosphere in the living room, it becomes part of that space instead. The choice of 12 colours plus white also helps with this change of use to fit your needs.
The result is a Night Light that feels less like a conventional lamp and more like a small illuminated artwork — something unitrusive in a room during the day that adds a sense of calm once evening arrives.

And, like all my inside lights, this is printed from PLA which is a plastic derived from cornstarch with no oil based materials. It’s known as a “bioplastic” as it’s completely biodegradeable or can be incinerated for energy without releasing any harmful chemicals into the atmosphere or leaving any residue.
