Giraffe Night Light

I designed this **giraffe night light** because I’ve always loved the quiet elegance of giraffes – the way they move slowly, calmly, almost thoughtfully. I wanted to capture that feeling and wrap it in night light you could actually live with every day.

The design is inspired by the flowing lines and intricate detailing you’d find in classic William Morris patterns. Instead of florals, though, I’ve let a giraffe take centre stage with the floral motifs of William Morris acting as a backgrouind. The artwork wraps all the way around the outside of the cylinder, so wherever you place it, you’ll always catch a different part of the design. It feels less like a lamp and more like a softly glowing piece of art.

When the light is switched on, the giraffe gently emerges from the surface. The layered 3D printed texture gives it depth and character, and the warm glow brings out all those fine details in a really subtle way. It stands 200mm tall and 100mm in diameter – just the right size for a bedside table, shelf, hallway table or cosy reading corner.

One of the most important things for me when I designed this giraffe nightlight was freedom. No trailing cables. No hunting for a socket. It’s fully rechargeable, and depending on the colour you choose from the included remote control, it can last up to 24 hours between charges. That means you can place it wherever you like – in the middle of a room, on a floating shelf, by your bath, on a windowsill – and move it around whenever the mood (or the furniture) changes.

You’re not committing to one look either. With the remote control, you can change the colour to suit the space. Soft warm tones for winding down in the evening, something brighter for a child’s room, or a gentle glow for a hallway at night. However you use it, it adapts to you.

I like to think this isn’t just a giraffe nightlight you buy and plug in. It’s one you find a place for. One you carry from room to room. One that quietly becomes part of your home.

And because it’s cable-free, it’s already ready to go wherever you decide it belongs.
