This new Double Dragons USB Lamp has to be one of the most mystical lights I’ve made to date. I’ve always loved working with dragons — there’s just something timeless and powerful about them — but this one really feels like it has its own presence. The design features two dragons facing one another, their bodies curved and mirrored on either side of the lamp. They sit proudly on a detailed backdrop inspired by William Morris, so there’s this rich, decorative quality to it that really catches the eye.
Whether you’re a full-blown fantasy lover or just someone who appreciates intricate, nature-inspired design, this lamp is a lovely thing to have around. And because it’s cylindrical, there’s always something to discover as you turn it — different lines, new little flourishes in the design, or the way the light hits the curves just right. It’s one of those pieces that people tend to stop and look at properly, even if they weren’t expecting to.
Aside from its magical looks, it’s also surprisingly practical. It runs on a low-voltage USB connection, which makes it super safe — even in a child’s room — and it uses very little power, so it’s economical too. The lamp comes with a remote control, and you can choose from 13 different colours to light it up, depending on your mood or the room you’re putting it in.
There’s a fade mode that slowly cycles through all the colours, which creates a really calming effect — ideal if you’re using it in a bedroom, or even just to soften the atmosphere in the evening. You can adjust the brightness to one of four levels, so it can be as subtle or as bright as you like.
It’s made from PLA, a plant-based plastic, which is not only sturdy but also much more eco-friendly than standard plastics. The size is just right too — 203mm tall and 92mm in diameter — so it fits nicely on a shelf, bedside table or desk without taking up too much space.
It comes with a 1-metre USB lead, and if you need it longer, it’s easy to extend. Just plug it into any standard USB wall adapter and you’re good to go. Designed for indoor use only, it’s a little slice of fantasy brought quietly to life.
