Garden Lights!

Most of my lights are meant for indoor use.  But as we get past Christmas and Spring is on the horizon, we’re going to want to be sitting in the garden with friends and family before too long (hopefully!).

I’ve started to design some lights that will work as well outdoors and indoors.  The first is this garden mushroom lamp.  Made from PETG – the same as water bottles are made from – this light will withstand a good shower if you leave it outside.  I’d recommend not leaving it out 365 days a year but it will cope with whatever the British weather can throw at it.  I’ve had one out in the garden on test through some horrible weather and it was bone dry inside when I opened it up.

The light source is in a base that screws onto the bottom of the mushroom lamp stalk to ensure that it stays dry and the mushroom head is fully closed so that even spashes coming from underneath should be kept out.

Like most of my lights, this is rechargeable and will last for around 12 hours between charges with the included USB-C cable.  It takes around 2 hours to charge from dead and the LED will go from red to green once the light is fully charged.  Again, like most of my lights, this light is remote controlled.  You can change the colour, adjust the brightness and set the light to fade or flash through all the colours.  You can also set the light to turn off automatically after 30 or 60 minutes.

Although this won’t illuminate your whole garden, it will act as a lovely mood light on a table or in a corner somewhere to add interest.

The mushroom lamp is the first but there will be more coming before we get the opportunity to sit outside more.  In the meantime, get one now and you can use it indoors or outside as a nice ambient light.
